Getting started

What is Ticker AI?

Ticker AI is a market-research companion that turns a chart image into a plain-language research summary. You capture a chart, confirm the exact asset, and get an explanation of its structure, indicators and possible scenarios, with live market context and clearly stated risks.

Who is Ticker AI for?

It's for anyone who wants to understand a chart better — from beginners learning to read candlesticks to experienced traders who want a fast, sourced second read. It's a research and education tool, not a signal service.

Is Ticker AI free?

Ticker AI is free to download and try. A Pro subscription unlocks unlimited analyses and the full research workspace. Pricing is shown in your local currency before you subscribe.

What do I need to get started?

An iPhone running iOS 18 or later and a chart to analyse — either on another screen you can photograph, or a screenshot in your photo library.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Onboarding, analysis and your first research all work without a login. Signing in is optional and only used to sync your data across devices.

How do I run my first analysis?

Tap the capture button, point your camera at a chart or import a screenshot, confirm the asset on the next screen, and Ticker AI returns a structured research summary.

Can I use Ticker AI without the camera?

Yes. You can import any chart screenshot from your photo library instead of using the live camera.

Which languages does Ticker AI support?

The app and this site are available in several languages including English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Turkish, Portuguese and Arabic, with more added over time.

Is there an Android or web version?

Ticker AI is currently a native iOS app. Follow us or check the site for updates on other platforms.

How is Ticker AI different from a normal charting app?

Charting apps draw the chart; Ticker AI explains it. It reads a chart you already have, adds sourced context, and describes structure and scenarios in language you can verify yourself.

Does Ticker AI give buy or sell signals?

No. It describes what a chart shows and the scenarios it allows, always framed as research. It never tells you what to buy or sell.

How long does an analysis take?

Usually a few seconds after you confirm the asset, depending on your connection and whether live market context is being fetched.

Scanning & asset confirmation

Why do I have to confirm the asset every time?

Because analysing the wrong asset would make everything downstream wrong. Ticker AI reads the chart and suggests the asset, but you confirm it so the research is about the instrument you actually mean.

What does the confirmation screen ask for?

Asset class, ticker or pair, exchange or venue, quote currency and timeframe. Ticker AI pre-fills what it can read; you verify or correct each field.

What if Ticker AI reads the wrong ticker?

Just tap the field and correct it before continuing. Nothing is analysed until you confirm, so a misread never reaches the result.

What does the confidence indicator on confirmation mean?

It reflects how sure the on-device text recognition is about the asset. When confidence is low, Ticker AI asks you to double-check before proceeding.

Can Ticker AI detect the timeframe automatically?

It reads the timeframe when the chart shows it. If the timeframe isn't visible, you can set it yourself or mark it as unknown.

What if my chart doesn't show a ticker?

You can enter the asset manually on the confirmation screen. If it still can't be matched to market data, you can run an image-only analysis.

Does it work with charts from any platform?

Yes. Ticker AI reads charts from trading platforms, brokers, TV screens, websites and screenshots — it works from the image, not from any single provider.

Can I analyse a hand-drawn or annotated chart?

Ticker AI works best with standard price charts. Heavy annotations can reduce accuracy, so it will tell you when the image is hard to read.

Why did it pick the wrong exchange?

Some tickers trade on multiple venues. If the exchange matters for your research, set it explicitly on the confirmation screen.

Can I re-run an analysis after fixing the asset?

Yes. Correct the asset details and start again; each analysis is independent and reflects exactly what you confirmed.

How chart analysis works

How does Ticker AI actually read a chart?

On-device Vision squares the image and reads visible text, then a vision-language model on a secure backend describes the structure, indicators and scenarios. The result is validated against a strict schema before you see it.

What does an analysis include?

A header with the confirmed asset and timestamps, the trend structure and key levels, indicator readings, possible scenarios, and an explicit section on risk and limitations.

What are key levels?

Prices where the chart has repeatedly reacted — support where it tended to stop falling, resistance where it tended to stop rising, and an invalidation level that would question the described structure.

Which indicators does it cover?

Commonly moving averages, RSI, MACD and volume, explained in context rather than just displayed as numbers.

What are scenarios?

Bullish, bearish and sideways possibilities the chart allows, each with the conditions that would support it. They are framed as possibilities, never predictions.

Does Ticker AI predict where the price will go?

No. It describes what the chart shows and the scenarios it allows. It does not forecast the next move or claim to know the future.

What does the confidence level mean?

It reflects how clear the chart and data are — not how likely you are to profit. Low confidence is a cue to be more cautious.

Can I ask follow-up questions about an analysis?

Yes. Saved analyses include a follow-up chat so you can ask about the structure, the indicators or the data behind the summary.

What is an image-only analysis?

When live data isn't available for an asset, Ticker AI describes the chart from the image alone, labels the result clearly as image-only, and does not invent prices or news.

Why did two analyses of the same chart differ slightly?

Live context changes over time, and small differences in the captured image can change what the model reads. The core structure should stay consistent.

Does it work on any timeframe?

Yes, from intraday to weekly and beyond. Ticker AI notes the timeframe you confirmed and reads the structure at that scale.

Can Ticker AI analyse multiple charts at once?

Each analysis focuses on one chart so the research stays specific. You can run several in sequence and compare them in your saved research.

Accuracy, trust & data sources

How accurate is Ticker AI?

Ticker AI aims to describe chart structure faithfully and state its confidence honestly. It is a research aid, not an oracle — it can be wrong, which is exactly why it shows its reasoning and its limitations.

Where does the market data come from?

From established market-data sources, with each quote labelled by provider and timestamp. When data is delayed, the app says so.

Is the market data real-time?

Some data may be delayed depending on the asset and venue. Ticker AI always shows the data timestamp so you know how fresh it is.

Where does the news come from?

From reputable financial news sources, shown with publication times and source labels so you can judge freshness and relevance yourself.

Can I trust the analysis for real money decisions?

Treat it as one input into your own research, never as advice. Ticker AI is educational; important financial decisions should involve your own judgement and, where appropriate, a licensed professional.

What happens if the data is uncertain?

Ticker AI tells you. It marks low confidence, labels image-only results, and never fills gaps with invented prices or headlines.

Does Ticker AI ever make things up?

It is designed not to. Results are validated against a strict schema, and when live data is missing the analysis is clearly marked image-only rather than fabricated.

Why is every claim timestamped and sourced?

So you can verify it. A research tool earns trust by showing where each number and headline came from and when it was observed.

Can the same chart give a bullish and bearish read?

Yes — that's honest. Many charts genuinely allow more than one scenario, and Ticker AI shows each with the conditions that would support it.

Is Ticker AI affiliated with any exchange or broker?

No. It is an independent research tool, is not affiliated with or endorsed by any exchange or broker, and does not connect to brokerage order systems.

Asset coverage

Which asset classes does Ticker AI cover?

Stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, forex pairs, indices, commodities, futures and options — with the exchange, market and quote currency shown on every analysis.

Does it cover stocks outside the US?

Yes. Ticker AI covers major exchanges across the US, Europe and Asia rather than just US megacaps.

Can I analyse crypto charts?

Yes. Cryptocurrencies and their pairs are supported, with the quote currency shown so you know what the price is measured against.

Does it support forex?

Yes. Major and many minor forex pairs are supported, labelled with the pair and quote currency.

What about commodities and futures?

Commodities and futures are covered, with the venue and contract context shown where available.

Can I analyse options charts?

Ticker AI can read options-related charts, though coverage and live data vary by underlying and venue.

Does it cover ETFs and indices?

Yes. ETFs and major indices are supported across regions.

What if my asset isn't covered by live data?

You can still run an image-only analysis. Ticker AI will describe the chart from the image and clearly mark that live context isn't available.

Are bonds supported?

Coverage focuses on the asset classes above; some fixed-income instruments may only support image-only analysis depending on available data.

How do I know which currency a price is in?

The quote currency is shown on the confirmation screen and on every analysis, so you always know what the numbers mean.

Markets, watchlists & alerts

What is the Markets tab?

A place to explore the market — indices, movers, sectors and sentiment — and to open research pages for individual assets.

How do I build a watchlist?

Search for an asset in Markets and tap add. You can reorder items and open research, alerts or a fresh analysis from any of them.

Is the watchlist free?

Overview and a watchlist are available to all users. The full Markets data and advanced tools are part of Pro.

How does the screener work?

It filters markets by asset class, region, sector and technical or fundamental criteria, helping you narrow a large universe to a short list to research.

How do I set a price alert?

Open an asset's research page, tap Alerts, and choose a price or percentage move. Ticker AI notifies you when the condition is met.

Do alerts tell me to buy or sell?

No. An alert simply informs you that a price condition you set has been reached. What you do next is your decision.

What are the calendars for?

The economic and earnings calendars show scheduled events — rate decisions, data releases and company reports — that can move the assets you follow.

What is market pulse?

A quick overview of how major indices are trading, which assets are moving, and how sectors compare, so you can orient yourself fast.

Why are some Markets features locked?

Overview and watchlist are free; deeper data, screener criteria and research pages are part of Pro. The paywall shows exactly what unlocks.

Do alerts work when the app is closed?

Yes, as long as you've granted notification permission. Ticker AI can notify you of your alerts in the background.

Trading journal & coaching

What is the trading journal?

A place to record your trades and ideas — the setup, your reasoning, the level that would prove you wrong, and the outcome — so you can learn from your own process.

How do I add a journal entry?

Open Journal, tap add, attach a chart and the asset, and write your reasoning. You can add the outcome and notes later.

Can I import my existing trades?

Yes. You can import trades from a CSV file to bring your history into the journal.

What does the AI coach do?

It reviews your journal for behavioural patterns — like revenge trading or oversized positions — and points them out gently to build awareness.

Does the coach tell me what to trade?

No. It focuses on your habits and process, not on specific trades. Every observation is educational.

Is my journal private?

Yes. Your notes and entries are yours; analytics never include your journal content, and syncing is tied to your own account.

Why journal the process instead of just profit and loss?

Because process is the part you can actually improve. A good record of decisions helps you spot and fix repeatable mistakes.

Can I review patterns over time?

Yes. The journal surfaces tendencies across your entries so you can see how your decisions and outcomes evolve.

Academy & learning

What is the Academy?

A library of short lessons that build real chart literacy — from candlestick basics to risk management — tuned to your level.

Are the lessons for beginners or advanced users?

Both. Explanations adapt from beginner to advanced, so you can start with the fundamentals and go deeper as you learn.

What are quizzes and streaks?

Quizzes check your understanding after lessons, and streaks reward consistent learning. They're there to reinforce good habits.

What do achievements reward?

Learning, verifying assets, journaling consistently and thinking about risk — good research habits, never risky behaviour or chasing profits.

Do I earn anything for learning?

You earn achievements and badges that celebrate progress and consistency. They recognise good process, not trading outcomes.

Is the Academy included with Pro?

The full Academy is part of Pro, with a selection available to all users so you can get a feel for it.

Can the Academy make me a better trader?

It aims to make you a more capable, independent researcher who understands charts and risk. It teaches skills; it doesn't promise results.

Subscription, trial & billing

What does Ticker AI Pro include?

Unlimited analyses, the full Markets data, advanced screener criteria, the journal and coach, and the complete Academy.

How much does Pro cost?

Pro is offered on weekly, monthly and annual plans. The exact price in your local currency is shown on the paywall before you subscribe.

Is there a free trial?

A free trial is offered in many cases. When available, it gives you full Pro access for the trial period, and you're only charged if you don't cancel first.

How do I start a free trial?

Choose a plan with a trial on the paywall and confirm with your Apple Account. Full Pro access begins immediately.

When am I charged for a trial?

Only when the trial period ends, and only if you haven't cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.

How do I cancel?

Open iOS Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Ticker AI, and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the period ends.

How do I avoid being charged after a trial?

Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends in your Apple Account subscription settings. You keep access until the trial is over.

Does cancelling give me a refund?

Cancelling stops the next renewal but doesn't refund the current period. Refunds are handled separately by Apple.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are processed by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the Ticker AI purchase, and submit a request under Apple's policies.

How do I restore my subscription on a new device?

Sign in with the same Apple Account that bought Pro, open Settings in Ticker AI, and tap Restore Purchases.

Why is billing handled by Apple?

Ticker AI Pro is sold through the App Store, so Apple securely handles all payments, renewals and refunds tied to your Apple Account.

Does the subscription auto-renew?

Yes. It renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Can I switch between monthly and annual plans?

Yes. You can change plans in your Apple Account subscription settings; Apple prorates the change according to its rules.

Will my price change after I subscribe?

Your plan renews at the price you agreed to. If a price ever changes, Apple notifies you and asks for consent before the next renewal.

Privacy & security

Is my data private?

Yes. Ticker AI is built to keep your research private — analytics never include raw chart images, your notes, your email or exact portfolio values.

Are my chart images uploaded?

On-device Vision handles image squaring and text reading first. Analysis runs through a secure backend, and images are never sent to a provider with a client-side secret.

Does Ticker AI sell my data?

No. Your research and personal data are not sold. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is collected and why.

Is my journal shared with anyone?

No. Your journal content stays private to your account and is never included in analytics.

How is AI handled securely?

AI runs through a secure backend API. The app never calls a provider directly with a secret, so your keys and data stay protected.

Can I use Ticker AI without sharing personal data?

Yes. You can use it anonymously without signing in, keeping your research on-device.

How do I delete my data?

Open Settings, go to Account, and choose Delete Account. You can also email support@tickerai.org for help completing the request.

Where can I read the privacy policy?

The full Privacy Policy is linked in the footer of this site and inside the app under Settings.

Account, login & sync

Do I need to log in?

No. Ticker AI works fully without a login. Signing in is optional and only used to sync your data across devices.

How do I sign in?

Use Sign in with Apple or Google from the login sheet after onboarding, or later from Settings.

What does signing in sync?

Your analyses, journal entries, strategies, achievements and Academy progress, so they follow you across devices.

What happens to my data if I sign in later?

If you started anonymously, your existing on-device data is merged into your account safely and without duplication.

Can I use Ticker AI on multiple devices?

Yes. Sign in with the same account on each device and your research syncs between them.

How do I sign out?

Open Settings, go to Account, and choose Sign Out. Your synced data remains safe in your account.

I skipped login — did I lose anything?

No. Everything works locally without login. You can sign in whenever you want and bring your existing data with you.

Device, troubleshooting & support

Which devices are supported?

Ticker AI runs on iPhone with iOS 18 or later, and takes advantage of newer iOS capabilities where available.

The camera won't open — what do I do?

Grant camera access in iOS Settings under Ticker AI. If a permission was denied earlier, that's the only place to re-enable it.

My analysis failed. How do I fix it?

Re-capture with better lighting and a steadier hand, double-check the confirmed asset, and make sure you're online. If the asset has no live feed, run it image-only.

Why does the result look wrong?

The most common cause is a misread asset or a blurry image. Correct the asset on the confirmation screen and re-capture more clearly.

The app is slow or won't load data.

Check your internet connection, since live context needs one. Closing and reopening the app usually clears a temporary hiccup.

How do I restore Pro after reinstalling?

Sign into the Apple Account that bought Pro, open Settings, and tap Restore Purchases.

How do I contact support?

Email support@tickerai.org with what you were doing, the asset or screen involved, and your device and iOS version for technical issues.

How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?

Email support@tickerai.org. Feedback directly shapes what we build next, and we read every message.

Safety, risk & disclaimers

Is Ticker AI financial advice?

No. Ticker AI provides educational research and market context only. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy or sell.

Does Ticker AI guarantee profits?

No. It never promises profits, never claims a winning trade, and never guarantees any outcome. Trading and investing carry a substantial risk of loss.

Can Ticker AI predict the market?

No. It describes what a chart shows and the scenarios it allows. It does not predict prices or claim to know the future.

Does Ticker AI execute trades?

No. It does not place trades and does not connect to any broker or order system. Every decision stays with you.

Should I rely only on Ticker AI for decisions?

No. Treat it as one research input among many, and consider consulting a licensed professional before making financial decisions.

Why does Ticker AI keep emphasising risk?

Because honesty about limits is what makes research trustworthy. Markets are risky, and a tool that hid that would be doing you a disservice.

Is past performance a guide to the future?

No. Past performance does not indicate future results, and Ticker AI never implies that it does.

What should I do before acting on any research?

Do your own research, understand the risk you're taking, size positions responsibly, and seek licensed professional advice where appropriate.
